Nov 8 Sustainability Education Public Forum

The session will be introduced by Special Guest Speaker: Professor Lesley Hughes, who will share thoughts about education for action on climate change. 

Professor Hughes is Pro Vice-Chancellor Macquarie University, Distinguished Professor of Biology, a former federal Climate Commissioner and former Lead Author in the IPCC’s 4th and 5th Assessment Report. She is a Director for WWF Australia, a member of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, the Director of the Biodiversity Node for the NSW Adaptation Hub and a member of the expert advisory committee for Future Earth Australia.

Then five different collaborative groups of educators will share their stories about supporting colleagues to strengthen Education for Sustainability in Early Childhood Centres, and the Sustainability Cross-Curriculum Priority (CCP) in Primary Education and through the Ocean Pod with schools. Then join in discussion with our presenters while enjoying some light refreshments.
