Conference Announcement: Beyond Plastic Pollution
Consumers, whether households or business, are becoming increasingly aware of plastic pollution of our waterways, beaches, parks and the marine environment. There is global alarm and a focus on solutions.
‘Beyond Plastic Pollution: pathways to cleaner oceans’ (30 Oct – 1 Nov) will involve the academic community, local councils, business, citizens, and state/national governments in Australia’s first conference on this urgent issue. We have fantastic speakers from Asia and the Pacific, the CSIRO, innovative businesses, ministers and mayors, and community advocates.
The main conference streams include:
- CSIRO reporting on the scale of the problem in Australia and the Pacific
- What cost fashion?
- Circular economy and producer responsibility
- Citizen Science
- Microplastics and the food chain
- Driving Behaviour Change
