The Matter of Landscape: Sustainable Design Strategies for RMIT City Campus

A series of complimentary project based teaching and learning initiatives across the Landscape Architecture program will provide an opportunity to showcase how RMIT is transforming its built environments through innovative and sustainable design.
This project primarily involves designing, developing and evaluating green roofs and planting master plans for RMIT city campus as a way of demonstrating best practice sustainable design for the city of Melbourne.

[PART 01] OVERVIEW
An investigation into green roof typologies, construction methods, best practice principals and evaluating claimed green roof benefits.

[PART 02] OVERVIEW
An introduction to the RMIT Green Roof project in collaboration with the students from the Environments 4 Course, Landscape Architecture Program.

[PART 03] OVERVIEW

The criteria developed and used to evaluate the green roof modules in relation to plant performance, growth medium performance and module cladding performance. A summary and conclusive thoughts, from the initial testing period.
