Jeremy Williams

Bio

Professor Jeremy B. Williams is Director of the Asia-Pacific Centre for Sustainable Enterprise, and Program Director of the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Enterprise. Jeremy has more than 25 years of experience in higher education and, prior to joining Griffith University, has held various senior leadership positions including Chief Academic Officer at Knowledge Universe (Global Operations), Dean of Corporate Programmes and Director of Research at Universitas 21 Global, and Teaching Fellow and MBA Director at Queensland University of Technology. A PhD economist with a special interest in sustainable development, Jeremy has published in a number of leading academic journals in this area, including Ecological Economics, and has taught graduate level courses in sustainable development as Visiting Professor at NEOMA Business School (France) and the Asian International College (Singapore). He is a member of the International Society for Ecological Economics, the World Economics Association, and the Australia Institute, and a Founder Member of the Samford Commons community group in southeast Queensland. Jeremy is also a pioneer and specialist in the field of technology-enhanced learning, having publishing widely in this area, and acted as a keynote speaker at numerous international seminars and conferences. Jeremy's main research focus is authentic learning environments and the ways in which learning experiences might be better contextualised to promote greater student engagement and deeper learning. This has been of particular interest to educational institutions in both the tertiary and secondary sectors, and to businesses looking to optimise their expenditure on corporate education and training.
